Don Blake

Senior Vice President, Operations

With more than 25 years of hard disk drive manufacturing and operations experience, Don Blake’s operational leadership is strengthening HGST’s competitive position in the global hard disk drive market. Based at HGST U.S. headquarters in San Jose, Calif., Don also maintains offices at the company’s Asia Pacific manufacturing facilities.

Don joined HGST in 2009 after 13 years with Western Digital.  He most recently served as vice president and general manager of WD Media, and he had played a leading role in Western Digital’s 2007 acquisition and successful integration of media manufacturer Komag, Inc. into its operations. During his tenure at WD he also held executive-level manufacturing, program management and quality roles, and he spent seven years in Asia as vice president of Asia HDD.

Don began his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, and he held operations management positions of increasing responsibility at Connor Peripherals, Maxtor and Toshiba.
