  Responsibilities
  Experienced mechanical engineer responsible for all aspects of mechanical design, analysis and evaluation of critical disk drive components and associated HDD performance.  Conduct designs using CAD, FEA, and validate performance by component and drive level testing. Will plan and execute evaluations, analyze and report results, optimize designs, perform failure analysis and develop timely solutions.  Work with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to produce robust, manufacturable, cost effective designs for high volume production.  Provide technical leadership of cross functional teams to resolve key problems.  Must have good communication skills and be comfortable presenting to executives and customers.  Some international travel may be required.
   
  Qualifications
  MS in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years industry experience designing high volume, high reliability products (disk drive experience preferred).  Extensive skills in design, finite element analysis, dynamics and vibration control, testing & data analysis is required.  Hands-on working experience using basic electro/mechanical test instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, LDVs, dynamic signal analyzers, and accelerometers is necessary.  Experience working with overseas suppliers employing various manufacturing processes such as die casting, injection molding, stamping, machining and other high volume manufacturing methods.  Must have demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and innovation; experience leading cross functional teams, effective communication skills, and be highly motivated.
