  2. Insert a blank diskette in drive A:

  4. Double-click on the file name to extract the microdrf.inf file to the diskette
  5. Plug in the Microdrive Digital Media product
  6. Select A:\ when prompted by Windows for a device driver diskette

Drivers for Windows CE OS

Handheld PCs using Windows Pocket PC OS already include controller drivers for HGST Microdrive Digital Media products. No additional drivers are required.

For earlier versions of Windows CE, you must download and install a specific version of the atadisk.dll file, depending on your handheld processor type.

Follow these instructions to install the correct driver for your handheld PC :

1. Identify Processor Type
Windows CE OS lists your processor type in its system information.

  - Click on Start > Settings > System
  - Click on General tab
  - Locate processor type

  or

  - Click on Start > System
  - Click on Device tab
  - Locate processor type

2. Download Driver
After determining your processor type, download the correct device below. A specific device driver (atadisk.dll) exists for each supported processor type running Windows CE.
