V.P., Head Business Group

Pantelis Alexopoulos, a 26-year veteran in the disk drive industry, leads the Head Business Group.

Mr. Alexopoulos is responsible for the development and manufacturing of all areas of head manufacturing, from wafers to the HGA. He oversees our head manufacturing plants in Guadalajara, Mexico; Laguna, Philippines; Shenzhen, China; Prachinburi, Thailand; Odawara, Japan; and San Jose.

For the past year, Mr. Alexopoulos has served as Chairman and CEO of TFPC (TDK Fujitsu Philippines Corporation), the Philippines-based joint venture between TDK and Fujitsu in the HGA sector. During his eight-year tenure at Maxtor, his most recent position was chief technology officer and executive vice president, responsible for Corporate Development, Engineering and Advanced Technology. Prior to that, he was executive director of Advanced Concepts at Seagate.

Mr. Alexopoulos began his career at IBM's Almaden Research Center, where he spent 14 years in various managerial and technical positions. He holds a Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. in Material Science from Cornell University.
